Because Left 4 Dead is a narrative within the setting itself (meaning that Valve doesn't use cut scenes and instead have the player to interact with game's environment in order to learn the storyline), there's a lot of things that are left unsaid, such as how they obtained food, how they sleep, ect. as well as creating some justifications on Zoey's characterization as seen in the game. This is more of a list of things for me to remember, but I'm putting it up for all to see.
This list will be expanded upon over time, once I establish a voice for her.

+ Zoey was born in the in-verse only town of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, where the Green Flue first took place.
+ After the tragedy of her parents' deaths, Zoey only took her father's gun, a backpack's worth of junk food and water. She locked the house they died in and threw away the key after walking several blocks.
+ On Day 3 after the infection, she met Louis, Francis, and Bill for the first time. Still in shock over losing her family, she was mostly unresponsive and rarely spoke, and was more-or-less stuck in her own little world. It took her to be nearly mobbed by the horde of the infected to snap back to reality a day later.
+ She missed her MP3 player greatly.
+ One of her favorite things to do during the zombie apocalypse is raiding stores, even if she comes up empty-handed.
+ While she has a great disgust for it, she does take anything she finds useful from the dead corpses.
+ When food shortages were at is lowest point, she and the other survivors raid the garbage.
+ None of them have attempted to hunt any wildlife. That might change when they arrive in the Florida Keys.
+ For the longest time she never told the group what happened to her parents. The first person she told was Bill. She hasn't told anyone else.
+ The survivors mostly sleep by day. They take turns in standing watch, usually in pairs. The everyday routine would be Bill and Zoey sleep but Francis and Louis be up on watch duty.
+ Zoey wondered how Louis learned to make a pipe bomb. He didn't strike her the bomb-making sort.
